v      MIDDLE VAITARNA PROJECT

Existing intake at Modaksagar

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is providing drinking water supply to Mumbai City and suburbs to the tune of 2978mld, serving a population of 11.85 million. BMC now proposes to further augment water supply to Mumbai by 455mld by the development of a middle Vaitarana source under the Mumbai-IV Water Supply project which involves construction of a dam on Vaitarana River, between upper and lower Vaitarana storage, conveyance of water from lower Vaitarana plus treatment and storage. The water from middle Vaitarana dam will be released into the lower lake also called Modaksagar in a controlled manner from where it will be drawn for treatment and onward supply to the city.

PS Consultants’ engineering team is involved in reviewing available data and carrying out detailed structural designing of water pumping station, 145 ml MBR with control room at Bhandup Complex & staff quarters at the Dam site. The scope of work also involves preparation of construction drawings, detailed bill of quantities and cost estimates.

v     OSD Expansion Unit at Kalwe, Mumbai for M/s Sandoz Pvt. Ltd.

Typ. P.T.Slab Tendon Layout before concreting

This is a 40 crore (civil only) project by M/s Sandoz Pvt. Ltd., involving OSD expansion unit construction beside their existing pharmaceutical plant at Kalwe, Mumbai. PSC proposed & provided with innovative Prestressed Flat Slab design thus saving considerable time & money in execution. While the columns & peripheral beams are of reinforced concrete, the slabs were post-tensioned using 4S13 High Tensile strands thus avoiding the requirement of secondary beams & extensive time in removing shuttering beneath the slabs.

v      Pharmaceutical Plant at Indore, Maharashtra for M/s Ipca Laboratories Ltd.

This is a 25 crore pharmaceutical plant of M/s Ipca Laboratories Ltd., at Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Here too PS Consultants have proposed & provided Prestressed Flat Slab design thus saving considerable time & money in execution. While the columns & peripheral beams are of reinforced concrete, the slabs were post-tensioned using 4S13 & 5S13 High Tensile strands thus avoiding the requirement of secondary beams & extensive time in removing shuttering beneath the slabs.

v      “Buty Palace” Shopping Mall at Nagpur.

Located at Sitabuldi Main Retail Market, at the heart of Nagpur, a 70 Crore estimated mall of 3,50,000 sq.ft., area is under construction by M/s Giego Constructions Pvt. Ltd. The mall has about 35000sft in each of the nine floors and has been designed with prestressed flat slabs without any beams in any floor. The structural consultancy has been assigned to M/s P.S.Consultants.

v      Delhi Gate Junction Flyover at Surat.

This 40 Crore flyover proposed by Surat Municipal Corporation at Delhi-Gate Junction, Surat, is under tender stage. The document is under preparation by M/s C.E.S Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai for whom the structural design is being done by M/s P.S.Consultants. The structural design involves aesthetically pleasing Prestressed Box & I-Girders founded on friction-pile foundations.

v      Warehouse P.T.Slab roof at Vandalur, near Chennai.

The Warehouse is completely a RCC framed structure for which the Roof slab was proposed to be done as a P.T.Slab. The job was assigned to M/s Freyssinet Prestressed Concrete Co. Ltd., Mumbai for whom M/s P.S.Consultants provided the Design & Drawings.

v      Water Pumping Stations at Indore - ADB funded Project

The project is basically a part of the Asian Development Bank funded schemes, at Indore, Madhya Pradesh. PS Consultants was involved as a sub-consultant in providing the structural design for all the water retaining structures, approach bridges, pipeline bridges & Pumping stations in the above project along with M/s Shah Technical Consultants Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai.

v      Control Room, ONGC & CISF Staff Quarters, Substation & Compressed Air Unit for IOTL.

Located at Assam, this is a project under construction by IOTL for M/s ONGC Ltd. PS Consultants was involved as a sub-consultant in providing the structural design for all the structures & plants in the above project for M/s Mott MacDonald Ltd., Mumbai. The job involved preparation of construction drawings & submission of complete design calculations of all the above structures for approval by the proof-checking authority, M/s Engineers India Ltd., New Delhi.

v      Sandoz Expansion at Turbhe, Mumbai.

The project of M/s Sandoz Pvt. Ltd. is an expansion of their already existing plant at Turbhe, Navi Mumbai. The overall consultancy was given to M/s Mott MacDonald who in-turn sublet the civil consultancy part to M/s P.S.Consultants. The job involves RCC design of the complete new expanded unit including integration with the existing plant. The plant is presently under execution.

v      Jindal Polyfilms Plant at Nashik.

M/s P.S.Consultants were involved in the design of Prestressed beams for equipment floors of the Poly-film plant under construction at Nashik alongwith M/s Sandwell India Consulting Engineers Ltd.,Mumbai who were the principal consultants.

v      Steel Foot-Over-Bridges at IT Corridor, Chennai.

M/s P.S.Consultants were entrusted the design of Structural Steel Foot-Over-Bridges at two locations – Seevaram & PTC Quarters, in the IT Corridor at Chennai by TamilNadu Road Development Company. The design involved unique & aesthetic shapes of the structure and a capacity to take Hoardings of 3m height

v      Major Bridge & CD Structures at Pune.

The designed bridges & CD structures in this project form an integral part of the B.R.T Project implemented by Pune Municipal Corporation at Pune, is under tender stage. The design job was entrusted to P.S.Consultants by M/s IL & FS Pvt. Ltd., Delhi who are the lead consultants for the Project. The Major Bridge was a 150m long RCC slab structure continuously supported over Pier Frames founded on spread foundations.

v      Micro-Tunnelling Project for Diversion of Existing Water Mains in Mumbai

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation had proposed diversion of existing water mains in Mumbai by Micro-tunneling Method and the job was awarded to the Joint Venture of UGCC & M/s Unity Infrastructure Ltd.  The design of the pipe for Micro-Tunneling was entrusted to M/s P.S.Consultants by the above contractors.

v      Foundation design for Aditya Birla Chemical Unit at Thailand.

Located at Thailand, this is an epoxy chemical plant of M/s Aditya Birla Group, resting on pile foundation. The entire consultancy for foundation design, in accordance with BS codes, was provided by PS Consultants as a sub-consultant to M/s Dalal Mott MacDonald Ltd., Mumbai.

v      Water Supply & Sewerage System for Settlements at Libya.

The Government of Libya, in association with National Consulting Bureau has proposed “National Program of Water Supply and Sewerage System for Tripoli Region” for 33 settlements in Libya. The consultancy for this job is awarded to M/s Shah Technical Consultants (STC), Mumbai for whom the civil design part is being done by M/s PS Consultants. The job involves the design of

v      LPG Terminal Plant for NIPCO Plc., Lagos, Nigeria.

M/s Nigeria Independent Petroleum Co.(NIPCO) Plc. at Lagos, Nigeria, went for expansion of their existing plant to add three LPG spherical vessels. The job was entrusted to M/s Indian Oil Tanking Ltd., Mumbai which awarded the civil consultancy work to P.S.Consultants. The job involves design of deep foundations for LPG Storage vessels, complete plant drainage & road network, and related structures like Truck Loading Gantry, Compressor & Firewater Pumphouse rooms, etc. apart from preparation of Engineering Specifications, BOQ & Tender Document as per the latest BS Codes & Standards. The job is presently under execution.

v      Jumeirah Golf Estates STP & Related Collection and Irrigation Systems at U.A.E.

Palm Water, UAE invited tenders for a huge STP (of 220,000m³) proposal at Jumeirah, covering an area of about 1,00,000 sqm. M/s P.S.Consultants in association with M/s Shah Technical Consultants, Mumbai have been entrusted the pre-tender preliminary civil & distribution system design by M/s Hyder Engineering Consultancy, UK.

v      Improvements to Influent Pumping Station at New Roschelle Waste Water Treatment Plant.

Savin Engineers, P. C. (Savin) is working on process up-gradation and capacity augmentation of an existing Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) at New Rochelle, Westchester County, New York State.  The WWTP serves to treat the sewage collected from the New Rochelle Sewer District. Main Influent Pumping Station (MIPS) is one of the components of this WWTP and its capacity is to be augmented.  Savin has engaged M/s Shah Technical Consultants Private Limited (STC), India as their sub-consultants to prepare detail engineering designs and drawings relating to the Mechanical and Structural disciplines of the MIPS. invited tenders for a huge STP (of 220,000m3) proposal at Jumeirah, covering an area of about 1,00,000 sqm.
